Create Music with Me for You
After my accident I dug deep and brainstormed for many months on how I could keep singing in the forefront of my life. At this stage in my life going on tour seemed far too intimidating and tiring. I even dreamed of going to Nashville and seeing if I could write and sell songs to country singers; but I LOVE TO SING and I did not want to just write songs for others to sing. Twenty years before my accident I was a birth doula and I have always loved supporting people, creating things and bringing passion to life. Now I want to do that with music. Would you like to honor a loved one, or celebrate a special moment or have you always dreamed of being musical but never knew how to jump in? Let me help you! Together we will create a song for you and/or I to sing together for your family and friends. Below are songs I have written for other people and causes that are dear to my heart. Music heals! Let me help you express yourself through music and heal your soul along the way.
“Black Babies Born Too Early”
Black women have a 49% percent higher rate of premature birth than women of all other races and ethnicities. Over the last few years, racial disparities in premature birth have gotten worse, according to the March of Dimes report. This medical crisis struck me at my core and I wrote a song about it.
“ONE Step”
According to the National Institutes of Health, nearly 1 in 3 of all adolescents ages 13 to 18 will experience an anxiety disorder. These numbers have been rising steadily; between 2007 and 2012, anxiety disorders in children and teens went up 20%. I wrote this song about a teen that struggled every day with anxiety.
